About Me
My name is Nathan Houx.

My wife and I have three wonderful children (two daughters and one son) which we raise in the little town of Ripon, California.  We raise our children in a Christian oriented home and enjoy attending church in Manteca, CA.  I enjoy many outdoor activities and spending time with my children. My favorite vacation spot is Disneyland, which I can never get enough of.  I love watching Football and my favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I am the Owner of NewLeaf Landscape Architecture which I started in April 2010 as a full service landscape architecture firm specializing in park planning, commercial, multifamily, industrial and educational landscape design, irrigation design, quality control and water management.

I have nearly 25 years of experience in the landscape design, construction and maintenance fields.  The past 13 years I have been project manager and landscape construction inspector for over $60 million in public capital improvements projects for the cities of Modesto, CA and Lathrop, CA.  The projects included parks, bikeways, street landscapes, buildings, outdoor structures, adjacent road improvements and highway landscaping.  I have also been in charge of commercial plan check review and inspections for both Modesto and Lathrop.

Prior to my work with public agencies I spent about 5 years as a landscape & irrigation designer and estimator and more than 5 years as a landscape construction laborer & maintenance worker with landscape construction companies in the Central Valley of California.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly, Pomona in 1994 and am a Licensed Landscape Architect (#5445) in the State of California.  I am also Certified by the Irrigation Association as a Landscape Irrigation Auditor (#85634)
